How we make money

Here is exactly who pays us, what that does and does not influence, and which products we have no affiliate relationship with at all.

Who pays us

Some links to vendors on this site are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, the vendor may pay us a commission. You never pay more because of it.

We do not currently have an affiliate relationship with any product on this site. Every outbound vendor link you see right now is an ordinary link and earns us nothing.

What it does not influence

Which products we cover, the order they appear in, what we say about them, and what we refuse to say about them. Ordering anywhere on this site is computed from verified data and stated criteria — the code that ranks products is not allowed to read the file that records who pays us, and a test re-runs every ordering with that file emptied to prove the output is identical.

We also cap ourselves at two vendor links per page, keep them out of the review text entirely, and keep the primary action on every product page informational. Those are enforced in the code, not in a policy document: a third one fails the build.

Products we have not checked yet

We have not researched whether an affiliate programme exists for these. We do not print a “no affiliate relationship” badge on them, because that badge is a claim and we have not verified it:

How vendor links are marked

Every monetised link opens in a new tab, carries an external-link icon, and is marked rel="sponsored nofollow" so search engines can tell it apart from an ordinary citation. Links to a vendor's own pricing page used as a source are plain links and are not marked that way — following our sources is the point of citing them.
